Checking Amazon.com reveals that some members like Dean Muehlberg publish firsthand accounts of their wartime experiences.  Most of our writing fits in this category.
Others like Ray and Josephine Cowdery, as well as George Larson, have published books on military history.  They also find that magazines will often publish the stories of fellow veterans in addition to military history topics.
Duke Doering has found that the local news media will sometimes take stories about local veterans that he has interviewed, especially after he has collected copies of war-period photographs.  And we musn't forget how Rex Alan Smith has demonstrated that stories of interviewed veterans can be compiled into a book.
Reading and discussing books gives veterans at the meetings a chance to discuss historical subjects and to stay current.  Some write book reviews or share key excerpts.  Speakers almost always have comments or "corrections" to books-in-print about battles they participated in.
