On Saturday, February 8, 2014, CAPT (OG) James A. Huff, USN (RET) is scheduled to present on his experiences while leading a naval intelligence team during Desert Shield/Desert Storm (1st Gulf War, 1990-1991).

The Navy team of seven had a mission of identifying US military technology that had been illegally provided to Iraq so that the Coalition Forces could neutralize the threat.  The primary focus of this brief is on one case involving a Chilean arms dealer, Carlos Cardoen.

Cardoen had illegally acquired US military technology and substrate and sold them to Iraq during Iraq-Iranian 8 year war.  Cardoen continued to provide Saddam Hussein with illegally acquired US technology after the hostilities ended between Iraq and Iran, and Iraq's invasion of Kuwait.  The brief is unclassified.
