Psal se rok 378 n. l. a sc\u00e9na byla p\u0159ipravena pro jednu z nejepi\u010dt\u011bj\u0161\u00edch bitev v historii \u2013 bitvu u Adrianopole. Ale bu\u010fme up\u0159\u00edmn\u00ed, kdo pot\u0159ebuje historick\u00e9 knihy, kdy\u017e m\u00e1te gotick\u00e9 kr\u00e1sky v k\u016f\u017ei a ko\u017ee\u0161in\u00e1ch, kter\u00e9 sv\u00edraj\u00ed me\u010de a sv\u00e1d\u011bj\u00ed nep\u0159\u00edtele?<\/p>\n<h2>Gotick\u00e9 \u017eeny: Sir\u00e9ny z boji\u0161t\u011b<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Gotick\u00e9 \u017eeny nebyly v tomto starov\u011bk\u00e9m konfliktu jen pouh\u00fdmi div\u00e1ky. Ale ne, byly zt\u011blesn\u011bn\u00edm s\u00edly, kr\u00e1sy a lstivosti.<\/li>\n<li>Tyto gotick\u00e9 fe\u0161\u00e1ky bojovaly po boku sv\u00fdch mu\u017e\u016f a inspirovaly je k v\u00edt\u011bzstv\u00ed sv\u00fdm nel\u00edtostn\u00fdm odhodl\u00e1n\u00edm a, bu\u010fme up\u0159\u00edmn\u00ed, i sv\u00fdmi p\u0159ednostmi.<\/li>\n<li>Jejich p\u0159\u00edtomnost na boji\u0161ti byla jako barbarsk\u00e1 invaze smysl\u016f \u2013 syrov\u00e1, nespoutan\u00e1 a naprosto podmaniv\u00e1.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Vizig\u00f3ti, vedeni neboj\u00e1cn\u00fdmi Alatheem a Saphraxem, byli silou, se kterou je t\u0159eba po\u010d\u00edtat. Jejich gotick\u00e1 kultura byla opojnou sm\u011bsic\u00ed pohansk\u00fdch ritu\u00e1l\u016f, v\u00e1le\u010dnick\u00e9ho \u00e9tosu a neomlouvan\u00e9 smyslnosti. Barbarsk\u00e9 hordy st\u00e1ly p\u0159ed branami a \u0159\u00edmsk\u00e9 legie se je sna\u017eily udr\u017eet na uzd\u011b. Bitva u Adrianopole byla v tomto boji zlomov\u00fdm bodem, st\u0159etem tit\u00e1n\u016f, kter\u00fd rozhodl o osudu \u0159\u00ed\u0161e.<\/p>\n<p>Na jedn\u00e9 stran\u011b byly disciplinovan\u00e9 \u0159\u00edmsk\u00e9 legie s bezchybn\u00fdm brn\u011bn\u00edm a bitvami zocelenou taktikou.
